A career in business offers incredible opportunities for professional growth, personal fulfillment, and financial stability. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to advance in your career, Southern Nazarene University (SNU) provides a clear and practical pathway to help you achieve your goals. With programs designed for adult learners, SNU’s Professional and Graduate Studies Programs offer a seamless progression from the Associate of Arts in Business (AAB) to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and, ultimately, the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Why Business?

Business is one of the most versatile and in-demand career fields. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment in business occupations is projected to grow faster than the national average for all occupations from 2023 to 2033.  Furthermore, the median wage for bachelor’s degree holders in business occupations was $79,050 in May 2023. This was much higher than the national average median wage for all occupations, which was only $48,060.

From small startups to large corporations, nearly every industry relies on skilled business professionals to drive success. A business degree equips you with practical skills in leadership, strategic planning, financial analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making—tools that are essential for career advancement. Business professionals often enjoy dynamic work environments, opportunities to network, and the ability to make a tangible impact in their organizations and communities.

Why SNU?

At SNU, we understand the unique challenges faced by adult learners. We design our degree programs with flexibility in mind. They feature accelerated course formats, online learning options, and class schedules that work for busy professionals.

Southern Nazarene University prides itself in being purposefully different. With a strong foundation in Christian values, SNU fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where you can thrive academically and spiritually.

Step 1: Associate of Arts in Business (AAB)

The AAB degree is the first step in your business education journey. This program provides a strong foundation in organizational behavior, leadership, teamwork, and ethical decision-making.

  • Flexible five-week course format
  • Learn 100% online or attend in-person classes once a week
  • 30 credits at $325 per credit
  • Complete your degree in as little as 16 months

The associate's degree in business program prepares you for entry-level roles in business or for continued education in a bachelor’s degree program. With SNU’s accredited and respected programs, you’ll gain the confidence and skills to succeed.

An associate’s degree in business is often a good first step toward a more managerial position with a current company. Earning your associate of business can help you work your way up to positions like hospitality manager, farm manager, and more. An associate’s degree in business can also help you to start a new career path. Paralegals and Legal Assistants are entry-level associate’s degree occupations and pay well, making an average wage of $60,970 per year.

Step 2: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA)

Building on the foundation of the AAB, the BSBA program equips students with advanced technical and analytical skills. These are the skills needed to manage business functions and develop strategic plans. Furthermore,

  • Program Highlights:
  • Five-to-six-week course format
  • Subjects include marketing, accounting, human resources, business analytics, and more
  • 36 credits at $425 per credit
  • Complete your degree in 18 months or less

Like the AAB program, the BSBA offers flexible learning options. Students can take classes fully online or one evening per week in person. Additionally, SNU allows you to earn up to 30 hours of college credit for prior knowledge and experience. This is at no extra cost and helps our students graduate faster.

Step 3: Master of Business Administration (MBA)

After completing the BSBA, elevate your career to the next level with an MBA. This advanced degree focuses on leadership, strategic planning, and business administration, preparing you for senior management roles.

  • Program Highlights:
  • Six-week course format
  • Topics include project management, international business, and executive leadership

If you dream of becoming a C-Suite or Top Executive, a Master’s in Business Administration is essential.
