To teach effectively, educators need to know they’re taken care of by their administration and that someone is looking out for the best interests of students, the school, and the educators. That means administrators need to be excellently trained leaders.
There is a reason why hundreds of Southern Nazarene University graduates serve at all levels of district administration throughout Oklahoma.
Mission Driven
SNU’s mission is Character, Culture, Christ, and this mission is present in every aspect of the program.
Accessible
Everyone deserves an education. With classes one night a week, SNU strives to ensure students can earn their degrees, even with full-time family and work obligations.
Practical
Current leaders in the field teach students in the Educational Leadership program. That means what students learn at SNU is useful and can be put into action upon graduation.
Local
Cohorts have been formed from Guymon in Northwest Oklahoma to Afton in the Northeast and numerous points in-between. A deliberate attempt is made to take the program where it is needed.
A school cannot function at its best without skilled educators and administrators. That means improving education in Oklahoma goes beyond training classroom teachers and into the administrative office. Teaching is more than a job, and studying Educational Leadership at SNU is more than a degree.
