[Bethany, Oklahoma] - Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Scott Marsee to the position of Vice President for Learning and Innovation. He will officially begin his duties in this capacity on July 1, 2024. Dr. Marsee has been a significant asset to SNU both as an educator and a leader. We are excited to see the difference he will make in his new position.

"I am honored to collaborate with faculty and staff to support and elevate student learning in this new role," says Dr. Marsee. "I believe SNU has an opportunity to differentiate itself by aligning mission and purpose to new programs and innovation in learning spaces."

Dr. Marsee brings a wealth of knowledge to students as a Professor of Instructional Design and Technology. During his 11-year career at OCU, he also served as academic dean, program director, and director of online education. Additionally, Dr. Marsee is an Ordained Elder for the Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Marsee lives in and works remotely from Ohio. His excellent communication skills play a large part in his ability to work effectively. "I have found my working relationship with him is like he’s next door," explains Dr. Winslow. "He’s an outstanding communicator and a steadying presence."

Dr. Marsee has garnered the respect of the SNU community, serving with distinction on many campus committees. "He’s a dependable and capable leader," says Dr. Winslow. "[He] has provided wisdom and guidance in many complex situations."

As Vice President for Learning and Innovation, Dr. Marsee will have many duties and oversights. He will closely support the Center for Learning and Innovation as they continue to positively influence faculty culture and learning environments.
