Getting involved on campus looks different for adult students than those fresh out of high school, but that doesn’t mean it is impossible! These are some free and low-cost ways you can get your entire family involved on campus!

Sporting events

SNU has multiple sports teams, which gives you plenty of options to choose from, in both event and times. As a student you get free admission to all sporting events, and tickets are low-cost so you can take the entire family without cutting into your budget! View a full calendar of events and ticket prices here.

Charity Events

As a private, Christian University, our campus often hosts and plans events to benefit others. A few examples were a 5k to benefit the Renew Counseling Center, blood drives, and more. You can view a full list of campus events here or follow us on social media to get updates in your newsfeed.

Performances

Our music and drama departments put on theatrical and musical productions throughout the school year. Attending an on-campus production is a great way to appreciate arts with your family while supporting other students at SNU! See upcoming performances here and make a plan to attend with your loved ones!

Eating Out

There are several on campus dining options you can use before class or on an evening or weekend with your family. From the coffee shop in the library to the 405 in the Webster Commons, you can get some great food and spend some time becoming familiar with SNU.

Library

The campus library is one of the mainstays of SNU. There are study spaces, the aforementioned coffeeshop, and countless books to choose from, ranging from reference materials to children's books. Spend an hour or two going through the volumes and falling in love with reading!

Professional Development

One of the great things about being on campus is being surrounded by others with the desire to learn and grow professionally. As an adult student, you also know the value of networking with others! There are professional development events and speakers who come to campus throughout the year to share knowledge with the community at absolutely no cost.

Academic Workshops

Our student success team offers a variety of workshops on topics like academic writing styles, financial aid, and more. When you see invites come through your student email, make plans to attend. Bonus points if your spouse or older children can come see all you have to manage as an adult student or get inspired to attend SNU themselves!

Play Disc Golf

Did you know SNU’s Bethany campus is home to a disc golf course? You can walk around campus with your Frisbees and play a game with friends and family. Don't know how to play? Check out this tutorial on YouTube

Take a Walk

Disc golf isn't your style, you can definitely take a walk around the campus. There is a beautiful fountain you can listen to, with benches surrounding the area, as well as tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, and basketball goals. This would be great to do with a spouse or children, to get some energy out after a long day.

Any way you choose to get involved on campus is the right way. Make some time today to plan for a trip to campus, and make the most of your time there. Being an adult student does it mean being disconnected from your University, it means connecting in new and meaningful ways.
