For Immediate Release

[Bethany, Oklahoma] - Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is proud to host the fourth annual Women In Leadership Symposium. The Women in Leadership Symposium is a one-day event hosted each fall on the SNU's campus. This year’s symposium will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with the theme “Celebrating Women: Courageously Confident.”

The schedule will include morning and afternoon sessions, offering opportunities to fit attendees' schedules. Those in attendance will hear from fantastic women in leadership, gain networking opportunities, and grow in leadership and faith with courage and confidence. The Symposium is for all who are interested in learning about leadership, developing their leadership attributes and competencies, and seeking opportunities to connect with other leaders.

SNU is blessed to have four excellent keynote speakers for this event. Necie Black, Founder and Owner of Lyfe Smarts Coaching and Consulting, who will be focusing on strength-based leadership coaching. SNU's own Delilah Joiner, Ed.D., Program Director of Family Studies and Gerontology, will speak of resilience and how to continue to lead through loss and tragedy.

Tina Floyd, Ed.D., Owner of the OKC Sparks Softball Team, who will share her expertise in education. Wyjuana Montgomery, an international speaker, award-winning author, and Operator of WYJUANA SPEAKS Consulting LLC, will encourage women to speak boldly and use their voices. Each of these women brings beautiful and distinct gifts and conversations to the table that you will not want to miss.

The symposium will be led by two returning co-hosts: SNU's Shari Rodgers, Ed.D, Dissertation Director and Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Education in Administration and Leadership program, and Katy Bradley, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students. Rodgers began her journey at SNU in 2022, and comes from an extensive background in educational leadership. Bradley has been serving SNU since 2007 in various leadership roles before her current positions. These women have expertly crafted this exciting and life-giving day just for attendees.

Registration for the SNU Women's Leadership Symposium is still open. The cost is $15 and includes a catered buffet luncheon alongside unique opportunities to interact with keynote speakers and table facilitators. This event is not limited to SNU affiliations and is open to all women in Bethany and surrounding communities.
